ENIEC is a non-profit European association and network of professionals and volunteers that seeks to secure equal chances on good health, well-being and quality of life for older people with a migrant background and older persons from ethnic minorities in Europe.
ENIEC offers an informal platform for members working or volunteering in the field of elderly care, social work, housing, architecture, public health, food and beverage, and the public sector, or those who have a connection with these fields through teaching, science, consulting or policy making. By sharing experiences and knowledge, ENIEC members develop new practices in the care for older people, social work, public health and the public sector for older persons from ethnic minorities. Members across borders in Europe use the platform for mutual support, cooperation and new initiatives in an atmosphere of inclusion and understanding.
ENIEC membership is directed at individual professionals who work and volunteer in different professional fields from social care to nursing, management, policy and research. As a democratic membership-based association, ENIEC is governed by its members. The formal General Assembly, which is the association’s highest decision-making body, takes place during the annual meeting. Members meet once every spring in different members’ cities, where both the annual meeting and the General Assembly are organised. Joint initiatives are encouraged throughout the year.
ENIEC members come from all across Europe and beyond: Estonia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Dominican Republic, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Norway, The Netherlands, Türkiye, Sweden, Spain and the United Kingdom.
