More about Miina:

I have had the opportunity of working and studying in the sector of the well being and human rights of older people. For the previous four years I had the chance to dig into foundation working with Jade Yhteisö Ry. Oh what a great four years they were and I am still a proud deputy member of the Jade Yhtiö board.

When speaking of Jade Yhteisö ry it is the main reason why I became familiar  with, and eager to take part in  ENIEC.

In the end of the year 2025 I returned to work in the Helsinki municipality. I received an offer to take part in creating a new service centre for older people in the area of northern Helsinki. The year started with a bang and with the help of co-workers and connections we have, we are finding more and more older people to take more active part in the neighbourhood and inspiring one another. We provide a meeting space for older and unemployed people that is taking steps towards being more and more inclusive and diverse.

Life is good in Helsinki, and I am still continuing my research at Gothenburg University about plus 75 years old women and their human rights. I was also happy to be offered responsibility of the diversity work within service centres of Helsinki. I specialise in directing groups for older people with special needs such as diverse backgrounds. I also currently lead a group for Somali speaking women with the help of a Somali speaking expert on a weekly basis.

ENIEC Communication Group

I'm a member of ENIEC since 2023. Since two years i am active in the communication group, with Ferhan, Thuzar and Jan and we love to continue the next year.

The ENIEC communication group supports our network in various ways to make our mission more visible and impactful. Through relevant media, such as this newsletter and our website, we share the story of ENIEC, highlight key developments in our respective fields, and showcase the work of you, as ENIEC members. We also support the ENIEC board with their communications and actively seek collaboration with other media platforms that can help us promote our mission.

A key part of our work is making our members more visible, not just externally, but also within the network. We want members to get to know each other better, appreciate each other’s work, and feel more connected to ENIEC. In doing so, we build a stronger and more cohesive community.
