This month we organised a webinar in Nijmegen (the Netherlands) on the care for migrant elderly with a team of ENIEC members: Hanna Carlsson, Hatice Bölek, Carolien Smits and Conny van der Aalsvoort. We worked as a well oiled machine to prepare a program with different angles to the topic: family carers, dementia, outreaching work, starting networks and how to start a good conversation on the (coming) end of life. In the different breakout-rooms many local colleagues participated to host one of the themes and also Jennifer van den Broeke shared her national experiences. So all in all 5 ENIEC members showed the power of the network! “This is how we do it”, as Montell Jordan sings his catchy song.
I really enjoyed our collaboration and look forward to our next plan to organize a masterclass or conference in 2021, as we initially intended if Covid-19 wouldn’t have disrupted our plans. We will also invite our colleagues across the border to join our team!
