The renewed board, elected during the 2026 annual general meeting in Frankfurt, has chosen from among its members Marja Säikkä as the new chairperson of ENIEC. Marja joined the board in 2023, where she worked for years alongside Olivia Vanmechelen, who has been our chairperson for the past few years. Marja works for the municipality of Helsinki and is our first chairperson from Finland, a country where ENIEC has a strong pillar of members who make a difference every day for older people with a migration background. Within ENIEC, you are never on your own. We are a membership association, where everyone contributes as a volunteer, including our board members, and we are very aware of that.
