In today’s rapidly evolving cities “care” has become a complex and dynamic challenge. Superdiverse urban environments where residents come from a wide range of ethnic, cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds demand more inclusive, flexible and culturally competent approaches to care. The City of Frankfurt is a prime example of superdiversity in Germany, with more than 57% of its population having a migration background. As one of the world’s leading financial centers, a global trade hub, home to the world’s largest internet exchange point and a major center for industrial production, Frankfurt stands out for its exceptional level of socioeconomic and cultural diversity.
Superdiversity is not just a challenge, it’s also an opportunity. By fostering cross-cultural understanding, supporting multilingual services and engaging communities in co-creating solutions, cities can build care systems that are not only equitable but also more resilient and responsive to complex needs. As urban populations continue to diversify, the question is no longer if we adapt, but how we do it together. In that spirit ENIEC Members are invited from April 15 to 17 2026 to collaborate together in exploring the pathways toward inclusive care in superdiverse cities like Frankfurt. Bringing together professionals, thought leaders and changemakers from across the Europe, the event will feature an engaging mix of keynotes, panels and interactive workshops.
